We write this letter with the utmost appreciation and love for our incredible community and the space you have given us to create and grow. Endings should be celebrated as much as beginnings. So, with mixed emotions, we announce the closure of the restaurant portion of our organization, Machina Kitchen & ArtBar. We will, however, be returning to our roots as a collective of artists dedicated to making this community a thriving, open-minded, boundry pushing, and welcoming home for all.
We invite you to celebrate the end of this chapter by joining us for dinner over our last two weeks, a special goodbye burlesque show with Burning Roses Burlesque at 6PM, $20, and dancing the night away at our Halloween Party on November 1st from 8 PM to 1 AM. $5 cover charge. DJs Rebecca and Chris Hamilton will lay down the beats and make us all dance. Costumes are fully encouraged. Let's light this night up! Machina Kitchen & ArtBar's location will be closed effective November 2nd, 2024.
Since 2013, Machina has been more than just a business to us. It has been at the heart of our local arts community. As owners, we have been fortunate to provide a platform for many to kick-start their own careers, offer them a place to belong, and connect them with like-minded individuals. Although the restaurant aspect of our journey is ending, Machina's essence will always remain, and we intend to continue its presence in the community through new initiatives.
Machina began as an art collective 11 years ago, on October 25th, 2013. We've come a long way since then and are proud of our impact on our community's growth. We were pioneers in our local visual art, music, and creative culinary scene, giving a space for artists when few existed. We're thrilled to see many other new venues supporting artists in the area. We have strength in numbers and have grown together to make Keene a more vibrant and welcoming home.
It's no secret that running a restaurant is incredibly tough. Opening 8 months before COVID-19 hit threw us a curveball and made finding our rhythm even harder. The last five years have been a whirlwind of extraordinary highs and real challenges. We're beyond grateful for our incredible friends, family, and staff, who have been our rock throughout this journey. We couldn't have done it without your unwavering support. Over the years, we have watched many employees grow into themselves and enter the world to bring light.
Additionally, Machina has provided a space that felt like home and touched many lives. This makes us so proud and means the world to us. That, more than anything, is what we consider success.
While Machina Kitchen & ArtBar may be closing its doors, our commitment to supporting local artists will not be. Our ownership team will continue working together to provide a home for artists in the area but in new and exciting ways. Think pop-up events, community involvement, and utilizing our individual skills to enrich the creative scene. We're excited to explore these new avenues and continue fostering artistic growth.
And there's more good news! A fantastic new business will take over our space, and we'll collaborate with them to ensure Machina's spirit lives on. Jordan and many Machina staff will stay on to help make this new venture a welcoming and vibrant staple of our community. Stay tuned for more details on this exciting development!
With all our love,
Danya, Jordan & Rebecca
